The
charge hose with in-line
gauge allows the low side
pressures of the air conditioner
to be checked. The following
chart offers a general guide
to correct low side pressures
at given ambient temperatures,
when the air conditioner
is switched on and has been
running for at least 3 minutes.
These are indicated by the
blue areas on the gauge:
| Ambient
Temp (ºC) |
Low
side pressure Kg/cm² |
| to
20ºC |
1.75 – 2.5
Kg/cm² |
| 25ºC |
2.5 – 3.0
Kg/cm² |
| 30-40ºC |
3.0 – 3.8
Kg/cm² |
The colour code on the gauge
shows these guidelines
in the following simplified
terms:
| Colour |
Indication |
| Green |
Refrigerant
is low. Could also
indicate a faulty expansion
valve |
| Blue |
Refrigerant
is full and does not
require topping up. |
| Yellow |
System
requires professional
intervention |
| Red |
Danger.
Do not attempt to work
on the system. Take
the vehicle to a professional
technician trained
in air conditioning
service work |
Refrigerant should only
be added if the gauge reading
is in the green area.
This product will only indicate
the low side pressure. Correct
diagnosis can be achieved
only by monitoring both high
and
low side pressures, and vent
temperatures, and by using
professional equipment. If
you are in any doubt do not

product. |
